Joel Werman

Joel Werman has specialized in the treatment of shoulders for over 23 years. He graduated as a physiotherapist in 1986 whereupon he commenced his professional career at The Royal South Sydney Hospital at Zetland. The next four years were spent at the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre in Crows Nest.

Joel set up his own private practice in 1991 at North Sydney. He completed his post graduate diploma in sports physiotherapy in 1995 at Sydney University. In 2009 Joel became a fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists as a Sports Specialist.

Throughout his career Joel has worked with a variety of sporting teams both professional and amateur.

He was a founding member of the Shoulder and Elbow Physiotherapists of Australia group and his patient load is now 90% shoulder, both conservative and post operative.

Joel has lectured extensively on the subject of the shoulder covering a wide range of subjects. Through his  extensive clinical experience with shoulders he has devised his own approach to assessment and treatment of the shoulder which is based on a structured clinical reasoning model.
