The Role of the Lower Limb Kinetic Chain in Knee Injuries

This presentation will focus on the lower limb kinetic chain and the common mistakes Michael has observed over the past 25 years in the rehabilitation of lower limb injury in the recreational and elite client population.

Research in the last five years has made great strides in:

1.improving the assessment and identifying the causes of the injury

2. justifying the diagnosis

3. targeting the treatment and rehabilitation of the lower limb kinetic chain whether it be due to  pathoanatomical /biomechanical or neuromuscular factors.

These advances will be discussed in terms of the management of the clinical day to day presentation of clients in the practice.

The talk will be both informative and will encourage participants to experience some of the subtlety involved in exercise prescription for the lower limb.

The talk will focus on the initial rehabilitation of knee injuries, the role of the lower limb kinetic chain and the graduated, goal oriented progression to return to sport at whatever level the client requires.
